Operational
The advantage of selection a bare chassis, that fully complies with the market demands, as the start point is that replacing the existing driveline is easy and allows a bespoke installation of the new driveline to match the eventual application needs. Day to day experience will reveal what the actual operational cost will be however the governmental fiscal duty on fuels will have an important steering effect on the operators as to which fuel type they opt for. The infrastructure for distribution and retailing of hydrogen has to be developed without being hamstrung by inappropriate rules and regulations.
The operating
costs will benefit from the low maintenance needs and so high
productive time availability but also from the increased payload
capacity. Couple these advantages with the long economic life
which means slower depreciation this equals a very attractive
economic proposition.
