Environmental viewpoint
Once the industrial revolution had taken place the last century witnesses the relentless drive for more productivity with little regard for the environmental consequences and depletion of energy reserves. In the 21st century the productivity demand became much higher but energy from fossil fuel are becoming more expensive as they become scarce and we all realise that the environment must be treated with respect. Alternative energies are being actively explored and the environmental impact is now taken into the calculations.
Technology has also advanced and hydrogen has long been seen as a valuable source of energy. The technology to harness hydrogen’s power has arrived in the fuel cell that is used in the Hytruck. The indications are that the gradual and inevitable switch to hydrogen powered economy has started which is why Hytruck has developed this technology, the fuel for the future transport industry. Fossil fuels price inflation is relentless and the populace no longer accept the pollution; alternative fuel sources such as bio fuels only provide a short term solution given that they demand a trade off with food production and only partially satisfy the environmental demands. The move towards the hydrogen economy is truly underway.
Hytruck focuses upon the development of climate friendly (zero emission) vehicles for the transportation of people and goods. Critical success factors include, reliability, durability, no emissions, efficiency and economy.
To fulfil these critical success factors Hytruck selected the fuel of the future; hydrogen, to power the high tech H2E (hydrogen to electricity) driveline. The first sector chosen by Hytruck was distribution where demands for zero emissions are more apparent. Due to the operating environment of dense population belts insisting upon clean air. The authorities have an important role to facilitate the rapid acceptance and introduction of hydrogen. This role covers the infrastructure for refuelling, attractive tax breaks to encourage investment. The authorities have the important role of stimulating the hydrogen economy! Transport companies also have to play their part and become active in the creation of a clean future: a hydrogen future.
